Deposits & cancellations
To secure your booking, we request a deposit equal to one night’s stay.
Please note, we are offering a full deposit refund for any bookings in May and June 2021.
As we are a small business and rely on forward bookings, we require 7 days notice if you need to cancel your booking. Your deposit will be refunded in full if you cancel 7 days before your arrival but we cannot refund deposits for any cancelations made within 7 days of your arrival date. In case you do need to cancel within 7 days of your arrival date, we strongly recommend taking out travel insurance as this may cover the cost of your deposit.
In the unlikely event that your room is double booked we will aim to secure alternative accommodation in or as near to Kingussie as possible. If the alternative accommodation is more than the price quoted to stay at Arden House, we will pay the difference. If the cost of the room is less than that paid at Arden House, we will refund the difference.
Check in and departures
Check in is between 4.00pm and 8.00pm. While we always strive to be around to welcome guests to Arden House, if you arrive earlier than 4.00pm or after 8.00pm we might not always be there to greet you. Please give us as much advance notice as possible if you are unable to check in between 4.00pm and 8.00pm.
We kindly ask guests to vacate their rooms by 10.30am on the last morning of their stay.
How to pay
We accept all major debit and credit cards as payment. When you book, we will take the deposit to secure your booking. We ask that you pay the outstanding amount on the last day of your stay and you can settle your bill by debit/credit card or with cash. Card payments are made via a virtual terminal supported by our booking system, Eviivo and we are fully PCI DSS compliant. Please note, we do not accept cheques.
If you book via an on-line travel agency, a fee is applied and we have to pay commission. We always recommend you book directly with us to ensure you get the most competitive rates.
We have a no smoking policy throughout Arden House, although there is a pleasant seating area that smokers can use at the front of the house. If you do smoke anywhere in Arden House you will be charged £100 to cover the cost of a professional clean.
Other charges that may apply
We understand that accidents can happen, however, if there is damage to our rooms that could have been avoided or is due to neglect on the part of guests, we may apply a charge to the card used at the time of booking. For example, fake tan or make-up that cannot be removed through routine laundering or spillages and damage due to neglect and/or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will incur a charge. We will always notify guests of any charges to be applied in such circumstances and how much this will be. Charges can cover the cost of a profession clean or repair/replacement of items damaged.
